How loud is the baby hammock motor?
The Lottili baby hammock motor is virtually silent. We measured a
sound level of 30 dB, about as quiet as a wristwatch or a
very quiet room.

What makes the Lottili baby hammock motor so special?
We developed a motor unlike any other: it's the only self-learning baby hammock motor on the market. It's continuously adjustable and intuitive to use. Smart software lets the motor learn the motion you give it within seconds, and then it simply keeps rocking your baby in your rhythm. The rhythm you use to rock and soothe your baby is the best one for your child, and the baby hammock picks it up exactly. That builds your baby's trust and gives them a deep sense of security, even while lying in the baby hammock. It's why babies settle quickly in a Lottili baby hammock and feel especially safe.
Because our motor learns the motion by itself, there are no dials to adjust. The buttons only set how long it rocks and which mode it uses. That way you always have a hand free to touch and soothe your baby.
Our self-learning motor is a big step forward for baby hammock technology. No other motor matches its function and intelligence.
What are the baby hammocks and accessories made of?
For our baby hammocks, we use fabric made from 100% cotton with OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification.
The mattress is made of polyurethane foam and carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 1 certification.
The baby hammock stand and the wooden bar are made of European beech wood with forest certification. That means the wood is 100% natural and free of harmful substances.
What are Lottili's safety standards?
Everything we do centers on your baby's safety. We check every single component we build in to make sure it works perfectly. A baby in a baby hammock relies on our care, so every time, we make sure all components meet the highest safety standards. No part leaves our production until we have checked it several times. Our own standard is well above what the law requires. Parents and babies have trusted Lottili baby hammocks, springs, motors and stands since the very first baby hammock we sold. Before we pack your order, we do one last check ourselves to make sure every product works as it should and is safe.
On top of that, we test every motor for function and safety before it ships. Our motor meets the highest safety standards and has an automatic stop function: its smart software pauses the rocking at the slightest irregularity. Throughout product development, external safety consultants checked the motor for safety at every step. We make sure our motors meet or exceed all safety standards.
Our spring is made of extra-strong spring wire and also meets the highest safety standards. One strong spring wire is more stable than several thin ones, so after a long initial testing phase we chose this especially robust wire. It's backed up by an additional safety strap. The strap comes from the world of extreme sports: it's made of the same strong climbing webbing mountaineers rely on, which made it our first choice for extra security for your baby.
The fabric of our baby hammocks is beautiful, of course, but looks are only part of the story. We choose sturdy fabrics that handle everyday loads and leave no doubt about how much they can carry. Our baby hammocks are built with a special safety feature that keeps the hammock from shifting sideways. Our fabrics have OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, which means they are tested for harmful substances. That's why they are 100% free of harmful substances.
The other components, such as the baby hammock stand and the wooden bar, are one of a kind. Master craftspeople make each one by hand, which ensures the best quality. Our online shop only carries products we fully believe in. The baby hammock stand rests on four legs, which gives it a firm, secure stance.
Where is the baby hammock motor made?
We make our Lottili baby hammock motor at our own site in Berlin.
What are the dimensions of the stand?
Our wooden stand is 1.95 m tall, and each side measures 95 cm. That gives it a footprint of about 1 square meter.
What is a baby hammock for?
A baby hammock is a snug hammock made for babies. It hangs from a spring, and that spring is what makes it special. The spring creates a three-dimensional motion: instead of swinging back and forth like a regular hammock, the baby hammock moves gently up and down.
Babies love this up-and-down motion because it calms them. That makes a baby hammock a great help for babies to settle down and feel completely at ease.
The baby hammock hangs from a stand (or from the ceiling) and is suitable for babies up to 12 kg. It gives your baby a safe, very comfortable spot for daytime naps. The gentle rocking makes it easier to fall asleep, and in most cases babies nap longer and more deeply in a baby hammock.
Can I wash the mattress?
You can wash the mattress cover without any trouble.
Can I use your baby hammock motor with baby hammocks from other brands?
Yes, in principle you can use our baby hammock motor with baby hammocks from other brands. Each manufacturer uses its own spring with its own strength, though. Our motor learns the motion with any spring without a problem, so it's fully compatible.
Important: the motor does not come with a spring. You'll need a spring to use the motor.

No, our baby hammock stand was designed for our own motor only.
Can I hang the baby hammock from the ceiling? What do I need?
Yes, you can also hang the baby hammock from the ceiling. Please take extra care with this, because your baby's safety comes first. It's important to know what your ceiling is made of and whether it can carry a baby hammock. Your baby's weight alone can easily make you underestimate how much load the mounting really has to carry to be completely secure. If you choose your own mounting, it has to be designed for many times your baby's weight. So pick a hook, an anchor and a chain that are each rated for at least 100 kg. To mount it properly, you need an anchor, a hook and, if you want the motor to hang lower, a metal chain.
Make sure every part is made of high-quality, splinter-free stainless steel.

Does the wooden stand work for twin baby hammocks?
No. Our baby hammock stand is designed for one baby hammock only.
Is it safe to use separately bought parts from a hardware store or other brands?
In general, you can use your own mounting too, as long as it holds your baby securely in the baby hammock.
With your own mounting, it's important to design it for many times your baby's weight. So choose a hook, an anchor and a chain that are each rated for at least 100 kg.
Make sure every part is made of high-quality, splinter-free stainless steel.
If you buy parts from other manufacturers, pay attention to the quality of the product and its material.

From what age can my baby sleep in the baby hammock?
Your baby can sleep in the baby hammock from birth, provided they weigh at least 3 kg.
Up to what weight can my baby use the Lottili baby hammock?
The Lottili baby hammock is intended for babies from 3 to 12 kg.
We chose the 12 kg limit on purpose: above it, the rope inside the spring is under tension and the baby hammock no longer swings as evenly. The stand, the motor, the spring and the baby hammock itself are designed for over 100 kg.
How long can my baby use the baby hammock?
Your baby can use the baby hammock until they can roll over, sit up or pull themselves up onto their hands and knees on their own. For most babies, that happens between 4 and 9 months.
Development matters more than weight here. And the baby hammock is meant for daytime naps while you are close by.
How many hours at a time can my baby sleep in the baby hammock?
We recommend letting your baby sleep in the baby hammock for no more than four hours at a time. The baby hammock is meant for daytime naps while you are close by. Health authorities have not issued an official recommendation on duration.
Our baby hammock comes with a removable, cloud-soft mattress that we developed especially for it. For all other sleep, your baby belongs in a proper bed with a firm, flat mattress. Watch your baby's cues, because every baby sleeps differently.
Is a baby hammock suitable for newborns?
Yes, your newborn can sleep in a baby hammock too. For our Lottili baby hammocks, we recommend a weight of at least 3 kg. From day one, a baby hammock gives your baby a lovely place for naps. The rocking feels almost like the security of the womb, which helps your baby settle into the new surroundings. That familiar feeling makes it easier to fall asleep and gives your baby a sense of security.

Where can I find all the information about my rental?
In your customer account, you can see all the important details of your rental and manage it yourself. For example, you can cancel your rental, create a buy-out offer or update your payment method. Here is the link to your customer account: Go to the rental portal

How long can I rent the baby hammock?
At Lottili, you decide how long you need the baby hammock. You pay a fixed, fair price each month, with no long-term commitment and no complicated plans. If you don't cancel, your rental renews automatically for one month at a time.
Which products can I rent?
We offer our classic set for rent: the baby hammock, the motor and our 4-legged wooden stand. You can choose the color of the baby hammock you like best.
What happens if I keep the Lottili products longer than agreed?
You can keep your Lottili baby hammock or other rented products for as long as you like. The rental period renews automatically unless you cancel your rental subscription no later than one day before the current rental period ends.
Do I have to pay a deposit when I rent from you?
No deposit required! We trust you to treat our products as if they were your own. We want to make baby hammocks affordable for everyone, so it matters to us that you don't have to put down an expensive deposit. Together, we're making the world a more relaxed place for babies. Are you in?
If I decide to buy after all, does part of the rent count toward the price?
To find out exactly how much you would pay to buy your set out of the rental, you can create a buy-out offer in your customer account at any time. Here is the link to your customer account: Go to the rental portal
After logging in, choose "Buy product" for your subscription. Click Confirm to see your offer. This does not commit you to buying. You are only viewing the offer for information. Only in the next step, under "Order with obligation to pay", do you confirm the buy-out. The invoice amount is then charged to your saved payment method and the rental ends.
